As part of a strategic plan to expand its presence into the Northern Territory and Queensland markets, leading marine services provider Bhagwan Marine (BM), have just completed a transaction to acquire Darwin based company, Workboats Northern Australia (WBNA). WBNA has a long track record as the premier marine service provider in these markets with a highly capable management team, highly productive marine personnel and a quality fleet of vessels.
With offices and support facilities in Geraldton, Dampier, Onslow, Exmouth (WA), Darwin (NT), and Gladstone (QLD), the combined group now employs over 700 personnel throughout Australia. With this acquisition, BM now boasts a fleet of over 100 quality vessels, making it the largest and most capable marine services operator in Australia. BM will continue to specialize in small to medium size shallow-water vessels, servicing the Australian Oil and Gas and Resources Industries in all key locations of Australia. BM will also continue to bring new built vessels into the Australian market.
With a strong focus on client needs and requirements, BM offer a wide range of marine services and are committed to offering the very best in purpose-built vessels incorporating the latest equipment, technologies and safety features.
“Staff, safety and having a ‘can-do’ attitude have always been the highest priority for both companies, so the fit was perfect, and the transition should be relatively seamless. We are very pleased that the key staff and founders of WBNA will be staying with the group and also remain as shareholders," said BM Managing Director Loui Kannikoski.
The acquisition also coincides with the company’s re-branding. Over the next 2-3 months, BM will be rolling out a new look for the company, including a state-of-the-art new website as well as rebranding of all of its fleet.
