Tullow Commences Phase 1A Development on Jubilee

Tullow Oil reported that Jubilee?s Phase 1A of development has been approved by the Government of Ghana, and drilling is expected to commence in March 2012. The operator will use the Sedco Energy semisub to perform the drilling operations. This phase of development consists of drilling eight new wells (five producers and three additional water injectors) and expanding the existing subsea network. It will be conducted over an 18-month period. The total cost of Phase 1A is projected to cost around $1.1 billion. Commencing production in 4Q12, Jubilee is flowing at a gross rate of 70,000 bopd. The Jubilee field, located on two licenses, Deepwater Tano and West Cape Three Points, is situated in a water depth of 3,609 feet (1,100 meters). More Offshore Projects

Noble Energy Resumes Drilling at Leviathan

Noble Energy has resumed drilling operations at Leviathan 1 offshore Israel in the Rachel license. The Noble Homer Ferrington (DW semisub) is expected to be on location for the next three months. Drilling will continue where it left off in April 2011 and the well will be taken down to deeper targets.

The Sedco 704 (mid-water semisub) has spudded the East Fyne appraisal well on block 21/28a in the UK North Sea for Premier Oil. East Fyne is designed to de-risk the eastern extent of the Fyne Field. Upon completion of drilling operations, the rig will then move to the Bluebell prospect in blocks 15/24c and 15/25f targeting the Paleocene play.
