Stratic Trims 2009 Gross Production Estimate for West Don

Petrofac stated that gross production at its West Don field will average to be roughly 1.75 million barrels of oil in 2009, instead of the previous estimate of 2.1 million barrels of oil. The reduction is because of the continuing gas lift and water injections performing below expectations. StatoilHydro Gets Green Light For The Scarabeo 5

StatoilHydro was granted consent to deploy the Scarabeo 5, a deepwater, 4th gen. semisubmersible, for production drilling activities at three wells in the Tyrihans field offshore Norway. Activity is expected to begin within the next 60 days and is expected to take about a month. The rig is committed to StatoilHydro through the end of 2010 at a dayrate in the high-$380s.
Deepwater Expedition Commences Drilling Exploration Well Offshore India

The Deepwater Expedition, an ultra-deepwater drillship, has commenced drilling operations for an exploration well for Reliance Industries and Hardy Oil and Gas plc in the Krishna Godavari Basin, located off the east coast of India. The rig is contracted to Reliance Industries through September 2010. The dayrate for the contract is in the mid-$370s.
